What Has He Done for Me Lately?

Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope for the future”.

I know many times because of things that have happened in our past or in our relationships that have caused us to stop moving forward. It could have been a loss of a job, a relationship, a betrayal, a lie, just interruption and distractions that we have given too much energy to. Those things can hinder our walk and the purpose God has for us. And instead of becoming who we were destined to be in  in the world, we become spectators!

God did not design us to sit and be quiet. In Matthew 9:6 God told the man..Get up! Take your bed and go home, get up!

And God has said to us! Get up! But our own insecurities keep us idle and stagnant.  Spectators!

We stay on the sidelines of life because we feel that we aren’t worthy of all the things we can do.

2) We tell ourselves we are unqualified God does not call the qualified, he qualifies the called.”

  •  David was a small shepherd boy but defeated Goliath and became a king. A shepherd boy who had no earthly idea of what it meant to be important instead had a heart that was willing to listen to God. (1 Samuel 17:1-58)
  • Peter was a poor fisherman but became a disciple and a fisher of men. (Matthew 4:19)
  • Esther was born in exile and a woman (at the time, a second-class citizen) but saved the Jews. (Esther 8:1-17)
  • Joseph was a carpenter but was chosen to be the stepfather of Jesus–raising the Son of Man in humility, not grandeur. (Matthew 13:55)
  • Mary was a teenager but trusted to be the mother of a man destined to die for the world to live. (Luke 1:30)

None of these people were prepared to do what God had planned for them yet were chosen anyways.

I know that sometime relationships, even a simple relationship can cause self-doubt. If you’ve ever had a relationship problem, you are not alone-Jesus did too!

But He still did what he was called to do! For and for me

3) Why do we have to stop spectators?

Because Jesus went to Calvary, for you and for me.

He died for us, He bled for us, He suffered for us and He Got UP! For us

Are you going to remain a spectator? Or are you going to GET UP and do whatever it is He called you to do?

Jesus was arrested.

Wrongly judged

A refugee

And cancelled

Have you ever experienced frustration? Jesus did too

Sorrow. Jesus did too!

Noah was an alcoholic.

Job doubted God several times.

Samson was promiscuous.

The disciples were weak and often jealous of one another.

And they even fell asleep on Jesus, the night he was arrested

The Samaritan woman could not keep a husband.

But Jesus anointed each one of them, unqualified, He qualified the called. Get up and do what He called you to do.
