Hardships Build Character

It does not matter what we go through, going through and have gone through, we have managed to overcome and be resilient and stronger from the experience. Most times we do not know how strong we are. This comes from years of hearing we are weak, stupid, or dumb. We continue to play at tape from someone else adaptation of us.

The good thing about leaving a situation is being able to start over on our terms.

If you have ever been stuck or suffered from any addiction and blessed enough to overcome the addictions, you are now the author of your book of life. No one else can write your narrative but you. It does not matter how much of a negative impact someone had on you; you can still overcome any obstacle if you keep moving forward. Do not interrupt process! I do not care how many times they say they will change. Or “I’m sorry it won’t happen again” Keep moving! It is a lie! It will happen again, and again, and again!

Let your life story be in your own individual language and your own individual handwriting. I know things have been hard and people have hurt you. I know that you may not be where you want to be in your life, but you are still here, still above ground, you still can change your narrative.

“Hardships and adversity shape our character. It allows us the important character trait of resilience. Through resilience, we can be bolder and more level-headed, one’s character is strengthened, and one is able to move on from very painful circumstances.” Building character from adversity helps shape us into who we are and who we will become.

Healing is a heavy process. It will make you laugh, cry, or want to give up. But do not do it. Healing starts from within. It starts with being transparent and empty. And replacing that emptiness with self-love and self-respect. Healing will give us the ability to discern negativity so not to involve ourselves in it again.

I implore you not to interrupt your process! Please move forward. There is nothing back there for you anymore. It does not matter if you believe things will be better. If the person you love is not willing to admit they need work and wants you to be all you can be to them, keep moving forward.
