Watch Your Connections!

Watch your connections! Watch who you give your heart to. Watch who you share your mind with. Never reveal your dreams or aspirations. Watch your connections! Just when you think someone is excited for you or want you in their life, you start to see the cracks in the foundation. It will begin subtle. Then passive-aggressive behavior will surface. And before you know it, the backstabbing and bitterness will be unable to hide. We fall for people or fall in love with people that we think we know and care about, but soon find out those very people envy you. We try to retreat and run away but we also want to ask the question why? Why do you hate me, why do you betray me? The ultimate disrespect is the inability to be honest because in being honest, you must be transparent. Transparency requires you to show your weakness and your weakness shows the emptiness that lies beneath the surface. Most people do not want us to see this weakness, so they do whatever they have to hide behind the phoniness and the fake smiles. No matter how many times people attempt to disrespect you, they can only do it if you allow it. “No one will ever respect you if you keep giving them chances to disrespect you”.

Be important! Follow your dreams! And be the best possible you! And if they hate you! LET THEM! If they envy you, LET THEM! There is a purpose on your life, and you are obligated to reach the purpose. Watch your connections! Some of them are only designed destroy you. Some of them are only designed to distract you. Some of them are there to make you second guess yourself and your destiny.

Watch your connections. Be aware of your gut instincts. They are real! Besides the death of a loved one, I believe the worst pain in the world if that one of jealousy and betrayal. We entrust these people with your deepest thoughts. And they use them against us. Watch your connections. Not all of them are meant to bring you light. Some are here to dim that light.

Sometimes it ok to walk alone and close your circle. There comes a time when we must protect our mental state and our health. We cannot allow person’s insecurities make us feel guilty for being happy and successful in our lives. This includes family, friends, spouses, in-laws, associates and even strangers.

If you think demanding your respect and transparency in any relationship is asking for too much. Then you are asking the wrong people!
